There is one big question for Myanmar: Will Easing Sanctions Bring Myanmar Back? United States has eased some sanctions and now from European Nations.
Before we response the concern let’s look a little bit about the idea of sanctions. Sanction basically indicates ‘an official order, such as the stopping of trade, which is taken against a country in order to make it obey international law.’ In the other hands, the concept is by Sanctioning the country will be poorer and poorer, at last people will come out to the street by starving and demonstrate that they don’t like that govt. Personally, I don’t like the idea of sanction much! I feel it’s quite childish.
International or Westerns Sanctions to Myanmar is effective in some sense and there is down side too. The successful side, as the concept of sanctions, people are getting poorer, really starving and the government itself is economically in difficult. In 2007 people and monks went out to the street and demonstrated but it didn’t work.
Sanction effected to the people of Myanmar and Govt but the end (result) still the same. The poverty of Myanmar is unbelievable, I mean rural area and daily workers, hopefully half population of the nation. Even though the sanctions are lift, it will not bring radical change. If we say, Myanmar situation is under the level of zero, it may not be wrong. Many systems need to start from the beginning.
Easing Sanctions will not bring radical change to Myanmar but it is very important for Myanmar economic improvement. By easing sanctions Tourism, Foreign Investment, Myanmar Products oversea Import (livestock and agricultural products) and Natural resource import will be boom. All these things demand labors and skills. It will be more job (more option for job) and higher pay.
Finally, Myanmar will take it’s role back in SEA and Asia (the richest country of South East Asia). I believe in Myanmar People (Human Resource), Country (Natural Resources) and Government (Reforming to better situation).
